Descrizione del congresso ZOMES IX Conference will take place in February, from 14th to 17th, in Rome. The Conference will focus on the role of Zome complexes (Proteasome, COP9 signalosome, eIF3) and the ubiquitin-proteasome system in the regulation of protein homeostasis. The molecular mechanisms discussed in this meeting are at the basis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson and Alzheimer and of several kinds of cancer.
ZOMES IX focuses on the role of Zome complexes (Proteasome, COP9 signalosome, eIF3) and the ubiquitin-proteasome system in the regulation of protein homeostasis. Topics will include:
• Structure, mechanisms and roles of Zomes
• Regulation of Zomes functions
• Zomes and protein quality control, misfolding and aggregation
• Zomes in health and disease
ZOMES IX will be held at the Hotel Aran Mantegna, which is located close to the city center and the city's International airport, but surrounded by green spaces.
Registration options, deadlines, and the speaker list are available on the conference website. the detailed scientific program will be soon available. More speakers will be selected among the abstracts that will be received.
Register by november 30th to take advantage of a lower rate.
ZOMES is a biannual conference, which was initiated as a grassroots initiative of scientists studying three related protein multi-subunit complexes: the 19S proteasome, the COP9 signalosome, the translation initiation factor eIF3 (aka PCI complexes, “Zomes”) and their related modifiers ubiquitin and NEDD8/RUB1.
The main objective of this Conference is to facilitate research and collaborations in the fields of Ubiquitin/Proteasome, Ubiquitin-likes, autophagy and lysosomal systems in health and diseases. ZOMES aims also at coordinating and integrating the efforts made by International research teams to better understand protein homeostasis and to translate novel discoveries into products of clinical or economical value. Indeed the molecular mechanisms discussed in this meeting are at the basis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson and Alzheimer and of several kinds of cancer. Discoveries announced in past editions of this meeting have led to the development of new drugs that are currently successfully used in cancer treatment. In addition, most if not all ZOMES speakers and participants are very interested in the future compounds, reagents and assays developed by your company.
